The Settings screen contains station-specific configuration for satellite and game automation, time synchronization, RDS and streaming equipment, and server system information. Always confirm the correct station serial number is displayed before making changes. Each section has its own Save Changes button; there is no single button that saves the entire screen.
Satellite Settings are available in APEX Plus mode. They are hidden in APEX Hard Disk and New Wave modes because those modes do not use the Bridge Switcher for satellite operation.
Satellite and Game Jock Names
The Satellite and Games buttons select which group of Jock names you are editing.
Select Satellite to configure names used by satellite-format clocks.
Select Games to configure names used by ball-game operation.
Enter a friendly name for each required Jock position.
Click Save Changes in the Satellite Settings section.
These names identify the corresponding Jock 1 through Jock 20 folders. Changing a name does not rename or relocate the actual audio folder. Satellite audio remains in folders such as:
<Audio Library>\Satellite\Jock 1
Game IDs and liners remain in folders such as:
<Audio Library>\Satellite\Game\Jock 1\ID
<Audio Library>\Satellite\Game\Jock 1\Liner 1
<Audio Library>\Satellite\Game\Jock 1\Liner 2
Time Sync by Closure
This feature allows an external satellite receiver or other device to synchronize the AAE server’s clock using a Bridge closure.
Enter the minute and second represented by the time-sync closure.
Enable Time Sync via closure.
Click Save Changes.
The closure is received through the designated Bridge logic input. AAE only accepts it when it arrives close to the expected time, helping prevent an accidental closure from making a large clock adjustment. The server computer must also have permission to change the Windows system time.
RDS and Streaming are separate serial outputs, so each can have its own COM port and baud rate.
Select the COM port connected to the RDS encoder.
Select the RDS encoder’s required baud rate.
Enter test text and click Send to verify communication.
Configure the Streaming COM port and baud rate in the same way, if used.
Enter the RDS Encoder Scrolling Header and station Call Letters as required.
Click Save Changes.
Selecting None disables that serial output. The Send buttons transmit the entered test text but do not save the configuration, so always click Save Changes after testing. During normal operation, AAE uses the saved settings to send now-playing information generated from the active audio event. For remote clients, the command is sent to the selected AAE server, and the server performs the physical serial transmission.
This is a read-only overview of the server computer and may include:
Windows operating-system information
System drive type
Installed memory
Processor information
These values are provided for installation, support, and troubleshooting. They cannot be edited from the Settings screen.
Before changing settings:
Verify the station name and serial number.
Allow the existing settings to finish loading.
Change only the required section.
Use that section’s Save Changes button.
Wait for the save confirmation before leaving the screen.
Test hardware-related changes before relying on them on air.
In the current implementation, the visible Source Channel Names and Music Category Names fields do not have active loading and saving logic. The Create Settings Backup button also does not currently have an implemented action. The Satellite Save Changes button presently saves the time-sync configuration and the Satellite/Game Jock names; users should not rely on the other displayed fields until their functionality is completed.
